What makes your new workplace special
Above all: lots of love for our horses, peace, freedom, cleanliness, and the well-being of the animals entrusted to us – these are our guiding principles. Our horses have a large box with an adjoining spacious sand paddock, which in turn connects to a private pasture. In the mornings, after their muesli, you open the pasture, and in the evenings, before their evening muesli, you close it again. During the day, the box remains closed, as each horse has a paddock with a water trough and a shaded roof.
Your main task will be mucking out the boxes, which are usually very clean, bedded with shavings, and laid on soft rubber mats. While you clean, the horses are on their paddocks – giving you peace to work and ensuring they are not disturbed while eating. Afterwards, the paddocks are cleaned. By this time, the horses are usually out on the pasture or may come to greet you and enjoy some affection. You are welcome to take that time, and we will be glad if you also keep an eye on their well-being in the mornings at feeding time or during the day. If you notice anything unusual, you will always have me, as the owner, as your contact person – available around the clock.
Once our four-legged friends are cared for and happy, you can enjoy a coffee under our arcades. Afterwards, you’ll have enough time to devote yourself with dedication to the beautiful stable environment and help maintain its excellent condition. That is why it is very important to us that you also bring a sense of joy and love for aesthetics, and that you take pleasure in working in – and preserving – an elegant and beautiful setting.
You will then have a 4–5 hour relaxed lunch break, during which you can return to your spacious, fully furnished and comfortable 80 m² apartment and enjoy your afternoon.
In the evenings, “your” horses will already be waiting for you: you open their boxes so they can enjoy their hay either inside or out on the paddock, and then they receive their evening muesli. At the same time, you close the pasture and clean the paddock again.
About two or three times a week, you will also check that the riding arena surface is moist enough and drive a few rounds with our small farm tractor.
Of course, you will have fixed vacation times, and overtime only occurs if your substitute is sick – which you can then immediately take off in the following week. However, we kindly ask for your support on public holidays, because while our horses do enjoy Christmas music in the stable, they are still hungry nonetheless.
